The New Zealand Series Handwoven Rug is made from 100% combed New Zealand wool, offering a premium experience with its natural sheen and soft texture. With a 13 mm pile height and a density of 4750 g/m², it creates a full, warm, and comfortable surface. Designed for those who love understated elegance, this series adds a refined look to spaces such as living rooms, sitting rooms, and bedrooms. This variant comes in a warm and striking caramel tone, bringing natural warmth and energy to your space.

What Is New Zealand Wool?

New Zealand wool is one of the highest-quality natural wool types in the world. Obtained from sheep raised in New Zealand's clean pastures and favorable climate, this wool is known for its long, fine, and lustrous fibers. It is naturally soft and durable, regulates moisture, and resists dirt. Wool fibers are also natural temperature regulators; they keep you warm in winter and provide a cool sensation in summer. In the New Zealand Series, 100% New Zealand wool combines with handwoven craftsmanship to create a long-lasting surface that is both warm and eye-catching with its natural sheen.

What Does Combed Wool Mean?

Combed wool is a type of wool obtained by carefully combing and straightening the fibers. This process removes short and tangled fibers, creating a smoother, shinier, and more durable yarn. As a result, the wool gains a silky sheen on the surface and develops a denser, fuller texture. The New Zealand Series' substantial structure, with its 13 mm pile height and weight of 4750 g/m², is also made possible by this combed wool.

How Should a New Zealand Wool Rug Be Cleaned?

New Zealand Series 100% wool handwoven rugs should only be cleaned by professional rug-cleaning companies. Since natural wool fibers can be affected by water and excessive moisture, washing at home, machine washing, or wet cleaning is not recommended. For daily care, use a low-suction vacuum cleaner and gently blot any stains with a slightly damp cloth to preserve the rug's softness, sheen, and colors for a long time.

Protect Your Rug’s Elegance
A careful care routine should be adopted to preserve the original splendor and silky texture of Carpetdocia’s handwoven, natural-fiber creations—pieces that add value to your living space—for generations to come.

Immediate Action and Liquid Spills
When a liquid is spilled, timing is the most critical factor. Using a clean, slightly damp cloth, remove the liquid from the surface by gently blotting only—never rub. Always work in the direction of the rug’s pile (the natural direction in which the fibers lie). Rubbing can damage the structure of delicate fibers such as TENCEL™ and viscose. If in doubt, stop immediately.

Routine Care and Light Balance
For your weekly cleaning routine, always use vacuum cleaners with low suction power. High-powered upright vacuums and stiff brushes can damage the natural structure of handwoven yarns. To balance the natural fibers’ reaction to light and prevent uneven color changes (fading), we recommend changing the direction of your rug every 2 to 6 months.

Expert Care (Professional Cleaning)
Delicate materials such as handwoven fibers, TENCEL™, viscose, and New Zealand wool should not come into contact with household chemical cleaners. These products can irreversibly damage the rug’s silky sheen and structural integrity. For deep cleaning, seek assistance only from professional rug-care centers specializing in natural fibers.

Washing Instructions
The delicate pieces in the Carpetdocia collections are not suitable for machine washing due to their construction. (Only specific models clearly marked “Washable” in their names may be washed in household machines using a low-temperature, delicate cycle.)
