Hitit Series 50% Wool 50% Jute Handwoven Traditional Anatolian Living Room Carpet – Beige (Natural Jute)

The Hitit Series Handwoven Carpet is a special collection that brings traditional weaving culture into modern living spaces. Made from a 50% wool and 50% jute blend, this 100% natural carpet combines the warmth of wool with the naturalness of jute, giving areas like living rooms, sitting rooms, and bedrooms a simple yet strong character. This variant features a natural beige tone with golden jute threads woven over a warm beige background.

What Are Wool and Jute?

Wool and jute are two natural fibers obtained from nature. Wool is an animal fiber derived from sheep, known for its warmth, flexibility, and durability. Jute is a plant fiber obtained from the stalks of the jute plant, known for its strength and natural texture. In the Hitit Series, 50% wool and 50% jute come together to offer both the softness and warmth of wool and the natural, earthy texture of jute; creating a breathable, healthy, and traditional foundation. The naturally crimped structure of wool fibers adds softness and sound absorption to the carpet, while the high tensile strength of jute fibers ensures the carpet maintains its shape for years. The combination of these two natural fibers provides a more natural use and a healthier feel indoors compared to synthetic carpets.

Hitit and Anatolian Heritage

The Hittites were an ancient people who established a powerful civilization in Anatolia between approximately 1650-1180 BC, with their capital at Hattusa (near present-day Çorum). As one of Anatolia’s oldest cultures, the Hittites left a mark on history with their rich motifs and symbols. The Hitit Series draws inspiration from this ancient Anatolian heritage and traditional weaving culture; it brings this deep-rooted aesthetic into modern living spaces with simple, natural, and timeless lines.

How to Clean Hitit Carpets?

Hitit Series wool and jute carpets should only be cleaned by dry cleaning. Since jute fiber is sensitive to water, washing at home, cleaning with plenty of water, or soaking is not recommended; this preserves the carpet’s shape and natural texture. For daily maintenance, a vacuum cleaner with low suction can be used; in case of liquid spills, quick spot cleaning with a slightly damp cloth is advised.

What Sizes Does Hitit Come In?

This color is available in the following sizes:

  • 170 x 240 cm (~4.1 m²) – medium-sized living room, sitting room
  • 200 x 300 cm (~6 m²) – large living room, open-plan area

Protect Elegance
A delicate care routine should be adopted to preserve the original splendor and silky texture of handwoven and natural fiber Carpetdocia pieces that add value to your living space for generations.

Immediate Action and Liquid Contact
Timing is the most critical factor in case of possible liquid spills. Use a clean, slightly damp cloth to gently blot the liquid from the surface without rubbing. Always perform this action in the direction of the carpet’s nap (the natural direction of the fibers). Rubbing can damage the shape of delicate fibers like TENCEL™ and viscose. Stop the intervention immediately if you have any doubts.

Routine Care and Light Balance
Always prefer vacuum cleaners with low suction power in your weekly cleaning routine. High-powered upright vacuums and stiff brushes can damage the natural structure of handwoven yarns. To balance the reaction of natural fibers to light and prevent regional tone differences (fading), we recommend changing the orientation of your carpet every 2 to 6 months.

Expert Touch (Professional Cleaning)
Noble textures such as handwoven, TENCEL™, viscose, and New Zealand wool should not come into contact with household chemical cleaners. These products can irreversibly damage the silky shine and structural integrity of the carpet. For deep cleansing, support should be sought only from professional carpet care centers specialized in natural fibers.

Washing Instructions
Delicate pieces in the Carpetdocia collections are not suitable for machine washing due to their structure. (Only specific models clearly labeled "Washable" in their name can be washed in household machines on a low heat and delicate cycle.)
